  Aim:  This course integrates behaviour change theory with evidence based, practical techniques for supporting individuals and groups to make lifestyle changes. It allows for skills development to take place in a safe and supportive environment. Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

 

·        Describe what influences the decision to change behaviour

·        Explain the ‘Stages of Behavioural Change’ model

·        Understand the method and spirit of motivational interviewing

·        Develop a change plan and elicit commitment from clients

·        Demonstrate effective personal interaction techniques

 

Prospective Participants:  Those working to help people explore and resolve issues around health behaviour change either one to one or in a group setting
